Tips & Tricks of the Trade – Stone Tile International – Part 1
Meet Julien Abesdris! He is an architectural sales representative at one of our go- to vendors, Stone Tile International. Founded in 1992 by Sylvia Benchimol, Stone Tile is a family-run company that is known for curating the best tiles in the business. In this second episode of Tricks & Tips of the Trade, Julien takes us through some details that set the company apart from others as well as some key points to keep in mind when purchasing material for your home.
Q1: What sets Stone Tile apart from other flooring businesses?
Though there are many factors that make Stone Tile a favorite of ours, Julien was able to reference three points specifically. First, they carry a vast amount of product that is both unique and diverse and, as the video demonstrates, they display it incredibly well! With elaborate displays throughout their expansive showroom, clients are able to get a good sense of what they’re purchasing and how it will ultimately look in their home. Second, Stone Tile has an incredibly knowledgeable team who are very well educated on all the products and materials they sell. Lastly, Stone tile is an incredibly rare and convenient one-stop shop as they not only carry tile and stone slabs but also wood flooring.
Q2: What is the most important thing for clients to keep in mind when selecting flooring, countertops and tile?
Julien stresses that it is incredibly important to have knowledge about the material that you are putting in your home so that you’re well aware of what kind of maintenance is involved. Natural products require a bit more maintenance so it’s important to evaluate whether it’s the right choice for you, your home and your lifestyle. If, on the other hand, you go with porcelain, the only thing you really need to think about is the aesthetics as they are fairly easy to maintain.
Q3: What is a trending tile at the moment?
Though Stone Tile carries a broad selection of trend-setting tiles, Din Tile Line has become incredibly popular and for good reason. Available in a wide variety of colours, Din has an undeniably retro aesthetic that has been reinterpreted with a contemporary twist for homes of today. The tiles are very modular, allowing for a wide scope of different applications.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of Episode 2 as we continue our tour of Stone Tile International with Frank Durso, as he discusses their hardwood flooring collections.
